Ved svær hæmolytisk krise er patienten indlagt - der kan være behov for såvel større blodtransfusion, understøttelse af nyrefunktion og behandling af udløsende årsag (f.eks. infektion)</li> <li>Splenektomi anbefales sædvanligvis ikke</li> </ul> <h3>Håndtering i almen praksis</h3> <ul> <li>Patient med kendt G6PD mangel bør gøres bekendt med arvegang, og andre familiemedlemmer kan tilbydes henvisning til udredning.
